Carnegie Hall Performance Information

The Decatur Avondale Children's Choir (DACC) has been invited to perform at Carnegie Hall on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 as a part of a residency with esteemed composer and conductor Eric Whitacre and Distinguished Concerts International New York (DCINY). This is a high honor and an incredible opportunity for our singers to perform in one of the most recognizable and prestigious concert halls in the world. In addition to the performance, DACC singers will engage in a 2-day residency of rehearsals and workshops, and will also have the opportunity to explore the magic and beauty of New York City during the holidays!

Who is this opportunity for?

  • Any DACC singer who will be 12 years or older by November 2024 is eligible.

  • All Residency participants must commit to attending regular DACC rehearsals, along with additional Residency-specific rehearsals in summer and fall of 2024.


What will the Residency include?

  • 2 half-days of professional choral rehearsals and workshops with a combined choir of international singers.

  • A culminating performance at Carnegie Hall, conducted by Eric Whitacre.

  • Round-trip air transportation and 4-nights hotel in Manhattan.

  • Sightseeing and entertainment in NYC during the holidays!
